Architectural Photography Approach
For the exterior, SB Visual emphasized Old Hickory’s historic downtown setting and strong corner presence. Natural light was used to bring out the building’s character while maintaining an authentic connection to its surroundings.
Inside, interior photography focused on hospitality design—capturing the warm textures of brick and wood, the glow of low light against custom millwork, and the striking whiskey displays. Wide-angle shots conveyed the inviting layout, while detailed compositions highlighted the craftsmanship and intimate atmosphere that makes Old Hickory a destination.

Challenges in Bar Photography
Hospitality spaces like whiskey bars present unique challenges for photographers. Old Hickory’s low lighting and reflective glass surfaces required careful planning. Instead of artificial fill lighting, SB Visual used long exposures, precise composition, and angle adjustments to maintain the authentic mood of the space. The result: images that are both technically sharp and emotionally true to the experience of visiting the bar.
